This original etching with aquatint in color is part of Marc Chagall’s poetic collaboration with French writer Louis Aragon, titled Celui qui dit les choses sans rien dire—“He Who Says Things Without Saying Anything.” Created between 1975 and 1976, the work reflects Chagall’s deeply emotional and imaginative response to Aragon’s writing.

Printed by the legendary Atelier Crommelynck in Paris and published by Maeght Éditeur, the image is rich with the fluid lines and expressive color that define Chagall’s mature graphic work. Figures, animals, and symbolic motifs float and intertwine, evoking themes of love, memory, and the ineffable.

Celui qui dit les choses sans rien dire is a compelling meeting of two creative minds—Chagall visualizing Aragon’s poetic sensitivity with grace and depth. This piece offers a contemplative, dreamlike window into Chagall’s world at the height of his printmaking mastery.

The work is in Excellent condition.
