Typically, this linocut was always referred to as a ‘woodcut’ in contemporary references and later in reference literature. Only the reappearance of the original, very thin linoleum plate, which was reinforced with wood on both sides for printing, clearly identifies the work as a linocut. At the time of its creation, the plate was used twice for printing in magazines, namely: 1. Menschen.
